11/25/2012 – ‘Tis the season to….shop!

Just when you though Black Friday was over, Cyber Monday is just beginning. J. Crew Factory is taking 40 percent off everything online and in the store according to blackfridaymagazine.com.

French fashion empire, Chanel has lost a lawsuit over crochet designs. According to examiner.com, Carmel Colle filed the 2.5 million Euro suit after seeing her design in a Chanel storefront.

Italian label, Versace launched a 30-second teaser for its new men’s fragrance EROS. This is the first men’s fragrance Versace has released in 5 years according to pursuitist.com.

11/18/2012 – Dresses, and bags and awards… Oh My!

The holidays are just around the corner and party dresses are flying off the racks. InStyle shows the hot new trends in cocktail dresses for this season.

It’s all in the family with Fendi. Ilaria Venturini Fendi, daughter of one of the famed Fendi sisters, started her own line of eco-friendly purses according to the L.A. Times.

The American Music Awards bring out the top fashions in entertainment. MTV Style shows all the red carpet looks from the night of the event.

 11/12/2012 – Recognition finally comes for Haitian designers

It’s that time again, when girls everywhere watch enviously as the top models of the world strut their stuff in the annual Victoria’s Secret fashion show. According to fibre2fashion.com, some of the show’s section themes include Circus, Pink is Us, and Calendar Angels.

Haitian designers get their chance in the limelight. According to the Washington Post, three dozen designers showed off  their long-overlooked work.

Teen Disney star, Selena Gomez, unveils her new Dream Out Loud collection for Kmart. According to eonline.com, the line includes flashy sequined scarves, fur-trimmed booties, and studded denim vests.

11/05/2012 – Campaign Style

Winter is upon us, and the coats are coming out. The Wichita Eagle gives advice on how to shop for the perfect winter coat.

The Election has brought up many controversial issues, but there is one thing we can all agree on – Ann and Michelle have great style. The New York Post shows the style differences and similarities throughout the campaign.

Victoria’s Secret fashion show producers save the day for an armory of the New York Army National Guard’s 69th Infantry Regiment. According to wired.com, the producers hooked up their show generators to the armory’s switch board to bring their power back.

Take your Halloween costume to the next level this year. According to the Wichita Eagle, just a wig and some makeup can transform you into a sure costume contest winner.

You don’t need to wait six months to start wearing spring 2013 trends. According to newsOK.com, updating your lipstick, hair and handbag is all you need to get a head start.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner, the younger sisters of Kourtney, Kim and Khloe Kardashian, are starting their own clothing line. According to peoplestylewatch.com, the line is set to launch next spring and will include shirts, pants, shorts and accessories.

As winter approaches, boots become a staple in most women’s wardrobes. The magazine website, vogue.com shows 55 boots to go with any outfit.

10/14/2012 – Designers take creativity to a whole new level

An 11 year-old jumps into the fashion business by designing luxury scarves, according to PR Newswire. Tati, the young designer, hand draws her designs and sends them to be individually hand sewn.

Soon, we will be seeing concrete on the streets in more ways than one. According to fibre2fashion.com, IVANKA, the world renowned design company for concrete, has produced the world’s first ‘concrete’ ready-to-wear and accessories collection.

Last season’s trends are this year’s fertilizer? According to the L.A. Times, designers like Gucci, Stella McCartney, and many more are using biodegradable material in their designs to make a more eco-friendly fashion world.

09/14/2012 – Fashion week brings on new trends

Camouflage is not just for G.I. Joe anymore. The L.A. Times reports a rising trend in men’s camo prints for this fall. Not only are the prints seen in clothing, but they are featured on every accessory from shoes to iPad cases.

French Lesson– The word camouflage comes from the French word camoufler, which means to disguise.

Fashion Designer Tory Burch takes a worldly spin on her spring 2013 collection. The New York Post reports the designer’s use of wheat prints, hand-dyed fabrics and long crafty necklaces.
